Arrebol – Privacy Policy

Arrebol (formerly Hallo Sunset) is made by Jiawen Sun. We don't have accounts, analytics, ads or tracking, and we don't run servers that receive your data.

What the app uses and why

Location. With your permission, the app uses your approximate location (about 1 km) to time golden hour, blue hour, sunrise, sunset and sky events where you are. Calculations run on your device. Your last known place and the spots you save are stored on your device only, in a container shared with the app's widgets and Apple Watch app.

Apple services. To show a weather forecast and place names, the app sends coordinates to Apple (WeatherKit and Apple Maps). Apple handles this under its own privacy policy. We never receive these requests.

NOAA space weather. For the aurora outlook, the app downloads public data files from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. No personal data or location is sent.

Notifications and calendar. Alerts are scheduled on your device. Adding a light window to your calendar uses Apple's standard editor; the app cannot read your calendar.

Camera. The camera is used only to draw the sun and moon path over the sky, live on screen. Nothing is recorded or stored.

Sharing and retention

We do not collect, sell or share personal data. Removing the app deletes everything it stored.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone.
