Privacy Policy for CubeSolver

Introduction

CubeSolver (魔方还原 on the Chinese App Store; "we," "our," or "us") scans a 3x3 puzzle cube with the camera and shows you how to solve it. This Privacy Policy explains what information the CubeSolver app for iPhone and iPad (the "App") handles, where it is kept, and how you can delete it.

In short: everything happens on your device. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking, and the App does not send anything over the network.

Information We Do Not Collect

• Camera images: we never receive photos or video from your camera
• Your cube and progress: we never receive the cube you scan or enter, or your solving progress
• Accounts: there is no sign-up and no account with us
• Usage and tracking: no analytics, no advertising, no advertising identifier, no tracking across apps or websites
• Location: the App does not use your location

Camera

When you scan a cube, the App reads the live camera picture frame by frame on your device to find the sticker colors. Frames are processed in memory and discarded; they are never saved or sent anywhere. The App asks for camera access only when you start a scan. You can withdraw it at any time in iOS Settings and enter the colors by hand instead.

Where Your Data Is Kept

Your current cube, your solving progress and your settings (such as appearance) are stored on your device only. To decide when to show Apple's rating prompt, the App also keeps a launch count and the dates it last asked, on your device only. Solutions are calculated on your device.

Crash Reports

If you agree in iOS Settings to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide us with crash and performance reports that do not identify you.

Data Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell or share any data. The App uses Apple's system frameworks; it contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code. The solving algorithm is a port of the open-source cubejs library and runs entirely on your device.

Data Retention and Deletion

• In the App: starting a new scan or entering a new cube replaces the saved cube and progress.
• On your device: deleting the App removes all data it stored on the device.
• Emails: if you email us, we receive your message and email address. We keep it only as long as we need it to reply. Ask us and we will delete it.

Children's Privacy

The App does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

If this policy changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and describe significant changes in the App's release notes.
